One of the biggest risks for student injury is the playground systems located on the school properties. Not only are these utilized during the school day, they are a community play area for afterschool and weekend hours. With the proper playground safety program in place which includes design assessment, inspections of equipment and surfacing and comprehensive management, the risk of injury can be minimized. This presentation will discuss a school’s approach to best practices and requirements for maintaining safe play structures and surfaces in the district.
