What is MASMS?
A member oriented, problem solving, professional growth association designed for educational facilities management professionals.  MASMS has three Minnesota Chapters (Northern, Southern and Metro) that allow members to conveniently participate in monthly association activities.  Our annual Conference & Trade Show is held in St. Cloud each September, and throughout the year there are numerous educational and networking opportunities.

Purpose of MASMS
  • To develop and maintain high standards in the administration, care, operation, planning, budgeting and development of buildings and grounds used by public and non-public educational facilities.
  • To provide the means by which active members of the Association can meet for discussion and continuing education.
  • To aid and cooperate with Federal, State, and Local Educational Agencies in promoting professional ideals and standards.
  • To engage in other activities that promote the objectives of the Association.
What Does MASMS offer to Members?
Networking
Members have the opportunity to meet and network with facilities managers and industry professionals from throughout the Midwest.  Members are invited to attend all monthly chapter meetings and association events, as well as participate in MASMS committees.

Information Sharing and Discussion
MASMS provides a forum for members to discuss the pertinent issues facing facility managers today.  Our members find they face many similar challenges, and are able offer each other assistance, support and solutions.
Resources
All members receive an annual membership directory, and the MASMS Messenger Newsletter, filled with association news and informational articles.  They also have access to the MASMS web site, and the list serve, which can be used to solicit input, advertise employment openings, or promote events.
Education
MASMS has been very active in developing on-going educational opportunities for its members.  Educational sessions are presented at all chapter meetings.  A yearly statewide convention, held in St. Cloud, offers a variety of educational seminars, and a vendor exhibit show featuring the latest products and technology available in the industry.  Each year in June, Custodial/Maintenance/Grounds Appreciation Days gives our members and their staff the opportunity to attend hands-on, interactive sessions and a vendor exhibit fair.
MASMS (in conjunction with AFE - the Association of Facilities Engineers) currently offers three certification programs, providing members with professional growth and recognition.
